Office Instructions
Booking Guarantee & Bank Card
The office requires a bank card to be registered as a guarantee instead of a cash security deposit: Omani customers may use a Bank Muscat debit card; if unavailable, a credit card from any other bank is required. Customers from outside Oman must provide a credit card only — debit cards are not accepted. The bank card must be presented at vehicle handover to be registered under the rental contract; failure to do so entitles the office to decline the contract. In case of an accident or traffic violation during the rental period, the office will first notify the customer of the amount due with supporting evidence and allow a reasonable period to respond or pay directly; if there is no response, the office may deduct the amount from the registered guarantee card.
Driver & Documentation Requirements
The minimum age to drive is 21 years, and the driver's license must be at least 6 months old. At pick-up, renters must provide a Passport, Visa, a copy of the bank card, and a valid Driving License. Omani residents must present a national ID with an Omani license, a GCC license, or a license from an approved home country. Tourists may use an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Service & Maintenance
Any repair costs resulting from misuse of the vehicle are the sole responsibility of the renter. In the event of a breakdown, the office will provide a replacement vehicle within 48 hours.
Insurance Excess Fees
Saloon cars: OMR 100 plus 5% VAT. Commercial/SUV/4WD: OMR 150 plus 5% VAT. Drivers under age 25 pay double the insurance excess. Off-road accidents or natural calamity damage incur OMR 250 excess and require a police report.
Theft Procedures
In the event of theft, the customer must pay a minimum of 15% of the total vehicle value and provide an official police report. The full Insurance Excess must be settled by cash or card before the claim is registered.
Grace Period & Rental Duration
A 60-minute grace period is allowed for returns; beyond this, an additional day's rental is charged. Monthly rental requires a minimum 1-month commitment — pre-termination incurs a full month's rental charge. Weekly rental requires a minimum 1-week commitment — pre-termination incurs a full week's rental charge.
Geographic Limits & Travel
Standard insurance and the agreement are valid for Oman only. Travel to the UAE requires prior approval from the office, specific documentation, and separate insurance. Failure to obtain these is a breach of contract and may result in the vehicle being immobilized at the border.
Vehicle Usage Restrictions
All vehicles are non-smoking; violations incur a minimum OMR 40 charge. Vehicles are equipped with IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring System) for usage tracking. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as received. Vehicles must be returned clean; charges of OMR 10 (exterior) and OMR 25 (interior) apply otherwise.
Insurance Exclusions
The insurance policy does not cover loss, damage, or liability arising from: sports activities, motor racing, drifting, off-road driving, reckless driving; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; crossing flooded areas or wadis; willful or intentional acts; traffic violations; over-speeding; or theft claims without a final police report and/or court verdict.

Security Deposit Required
If your nationality is not from GCC countries, you will have to pay a security deposit of OMR 150.000 in cash at the office. This amount will be refunded after a processing period once you return the car, in accordance with the rental office's policy.
